Fake Facebook page claims Rivers United appoints foreigner as new Sporting Director

The non- existent Mr Noah Brown

The management of Port Harcourt based NPFL club, Rivers United has debunked the news making the rounds of an American hired as the club's new sporting director 90minutesgoal.com reports.

Earlier today, a picture of a man (Noah Brown) was found on a parody/cloned Facebook page calming to be that of Rivers United.


The Picture, had a message attached to it, which read : Joining the Rivers United family is Mr Noah Brown from Minnesota, USA" He's worked with the youth academies at Macaabi Tel Aviv in Israel, Minnesota United in the MLS and Los Galaxy in the MLS. 



Mr Noah Brown is joining us as the new Sporting Director for the new season. We are excited to welcome him to our great club. #RiversUnitedfc, #NoahBrown, #NofightNoglory.




Speaking to 90minutesgoal.com, the club's media Officer; Sammy Wejinya warned fans of the club and lovers of football around the globe to ignore the post. Warning that the club will not be held liable for any loss incurred due to information disseminated from the cloned paged.


I want to inform clearly that this page is not the official Rivers United FC Facebook page. The football club will not be held liable for any information disseminated from this page. He said

It seems hacking and cloning is the latest trend in football, as just recently, the Twitter handles of La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, were hacked with the perpetrators announcing the signing of  Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria respectively.

Rivers United host Gombe United in match day 38 in Port Harcourt, as "The Pride of Rivers' attempts to continue a good run of form that has seen them pick up seven points from a possible nine points in three games.
